RTS Similar to Empire Earth

New to steam here and looking for a good RTS. I really enjoy the balance of war and economy with the territory borders. I've been out of the genre for quite a while and looking for recommendations.

Company of Heroes is a massive RTS Franchise. As is Down Of War. Supreme Commander as well. Those 3 complete series go back about 15 years to now a days and would keep you busy for a loooong time. Umm Cossacks just came out with a new one too.

Rise of Nations has everything you need. Nation borders play a part in the gameplay.

The Total War Series while turn based does also allow you to enter full rts combat, umm Sins of a Solar Empire, whlie 4X has everything you are looking for as well.

They rereleased it on Steam. They also replaced GameSpy with Steamworks.

I used to play the Total War series a ton. Ill definitely take a look at these suggestions too.

Yeah, depending on when you last played, Shogun Series, Rome Series and Warhammer (Warhammer 2 will be out soon) have released.

I'll probably be giving RoN a shot. Just wish there was a game like it that was a bit more modern.

Hard to find more modern games like that to be honest.

Both exellent games with lots of expansion packs, lots of mods, even and additional maps.

Both exellent games with lots of expansion packs, lots of mods, even and additional maps.

I enjoy them. But I find I like the first one more some reason. It does have less countries but I just like how it plays more.

They are somewhat different true. I have over a Thousand Hours in both series lol.

I'd like to add that these games are very much dlc reliant imo. You can enjoy the game without them but they are really fun and good(but pricey).

That is true. Pretty much all the series I listed have numerous dlc's and buying them completely will add up to some money.
