Accepted shares in monero mining
So I have been mining monero for a couple days now and I have seen the hashrate go to 840m/s. Today, it dropped to about 200 m/s. Im not sure what happend, but how do I get the number back up? My accepted shares went from 16 to 4. Could this be the root of the problem?

If you mine slower you earn slower..

PS
I assumed it's some sort of bitcoin mining since I have no idea what is monero

No, Monero is a separate cryptocurrency entirely to Bitcoin

Mining Monero with a video card is not really efficient because its only 2 times faster than mining with a cpu.
I would recommend mining the other coins which are much faster to mine with a gpu than with a cpu.
You can see here how much hashes per second you can make with your CPU:

What? :Miller:

Isn't mining cryptocurrency completely worthless since it destroys your components faster then you can turn a profit from it?

No, because you are performing complex mathematical operations. You are not actually mining with your components.
Sorry for this one ;)
But if you make sure the components are properly cooled and not overclocked you should be safe. The bigger problem is the power drain of your hardware.

When you are mining it's the same as if you were playing a cpu/gpu intense game.
Thats what i meant. The damage to your hardware. I still doubt you'll get much of a profit.

You can still make good profit off minng but it requires a lot of expertiese and investment before you start making profit.
But what you probably mean is that it's hardly possible to make any profit with a regular Desktop PC at home and that is true.

I have created the following website to test a service called Coin-Hive (https://coin-hive.com) which uses JavaScript to mine Monero.

You may have to disable adblock.
https://trashadress.000webhostapp.com/index.html

The current Payout of Coin-Hive is
0.00014987 XMR per 1,000,000 solved hashes which is about 0.0117004629 EUR or 0.0138246819 USD

Try out how many Hashes per second you get and you can calculate how much profit you woud make using this method.

The servie was created to replace Advertising on websites and get rid of annoying popups and instead let the visitors mine for the website owner's mining pool. So i have to say that this is not even near to the optimal solution for mining any cryptocurrency even if it's one of the simplest.
Yeah I hate those things.
Add the following lines to your ad-blocker to get rid of them:

Did you find any websites which are actually using these miners yet?
Jsecoin was on some popular news website
