whats the proper name for the outdated horizontal PC case designs?
example: {LINK REMOVED}
if you didnt see the picture:
NO. its not a tower flipped on it's side
NO. its not a mac mini or computer that looks like it
If you want more examples other than that dell:
Tandy 1000 (it was horizontal)
Packard Bell Legend316SX (it was horizontal too)\
ive been searching on google is "front bed laying pc case" and i get are stock photos of people laying in beds using a laptop.

I don't think there is an official word for it other than "horizontal"

But looking around I'm seeing "Low Profile," "Small Form Factor," "Flat Desktop," and "Pizza Box"

Literally flat desktop
Originally they were called desktop cases, as they were meant to sit on the desk, often reinforced to support the old CRT monitors. Today the term as moved over to media center case, as they are meant for PCs that sit alongside all your other entertainment devices.

And before you ask, yest we refer to non-laptops as desktops. That's just a carry over from the wee old days. That is a PC in a desktop case, as opposed to a Tower case, which is meant to go under or along side the desk. Whew.

EDIT: You can also look up HTPC, which stands for Home Theater

mkay. when i searched "flat desktop" i came up with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ stock photos, then added "dell optiplex" even though the first few results were still towers; the 14th image result was a "flat desktop" dell optiplex 745
thx

You gotta add pc case to it

Maybe "media center PCs"? Flat-top computers are mostly reserved for Steam Machines and games consoles anymore, but there still exist PC cases designed for that orientation.
