My 10 yr old bro is into Anime, and wants to see more.

He likes Fantasy (monsters, weapons) and hates fan-service.

Scary monsters and blood are not a problem, but too ♥♥♥♥♥♥ things like♥♥♥♥♥♥are not okay.

Any suggestions?

I don't see the huge deal about that, if fan service is what I think it is then I don't like it either, some people don't like "that" stuff.

fan service isn't anything inherently bad. it's when they shove bouncing boobs in your face that it becomes annoying. good fanservice is a lot more subtle

anyway, maybe something like katanagatari would be good. not sure if he'd have the patience for 40 min episodes tho

If there's an ecchi tag to it, then it's not fan service, if there's a hentai tag to it, then it's not fan service. Nudity itself is not fan service, since it's able to serve the plot.

If it doesn't do any of that, it's fan service, which is completley unneccessary and only takes up screentime for something that could actually be beneficial.

No such thing as ''good fan service'', that's called the ecchi genre.

that's not what fan service is. fan service is stuff added intentionally to please the audience. it doesn't even have to have a negative impact on the plot. and yes, ecchi contains fan service

Fan service isn't even inherently for ♥♥♥♥♥♥ gratification. It could be something as simple as making a character popular with the fanbase return for the next installment.
