Contemplating the layout for "Ourtube"
Before we figure out the layout and/or format for "Ourtube" Here are some videos that explain what is "Ourtube".

Old Video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hZ1b5-RbA8

More recent Video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVEkTDqo_9o

To start off, It would be more efficient to brainstorm a new website rather than expect youtube to change it's business model. Secondly, we need to compare and contrast the best and worst aspects of not only modern Youtube, but Oldskool Youtube. What I mean is, we look at current features (e.g. Live Streaming), and former features (e.g. Video Replies, which were removed due to "low engagement"). By doing so, we can combine the best aspects of Youtube in different periods of time, thus creating the best video steaming experience out of "Ourtube"

Got any suggestions?

Useless, people will keep using YouTube till it's dead :VSnake:

Do you want Youtube to be a Monopoly? I feel as if that way of thinking is a contributing factor to places like Dailymotion, Vimeo, and Vidme struggle to compete with Youtube.

It is pretty much the equivalent of having Walmart's competition exclusively consisting of Mom and Pop shops.

Plus, on "Ourtube" Indy video makers will have more room to breath.

Thing is it's too late for any video platform to catch up to YouTube. You can try and support it, but most people need money to live and make their videos, and for most, YouTube is the only good option :VSnake:

Look, OP, what Daxank is saying here isn't "You can't possibly do it".

He's saying "You're going to need a whole lot more than sheer optimism, ambition, and determination to amount to anything if you want to take on YouTube".

You can work out at a job whilst not creating "Ourtube" videos (e.g. an 8 hours a week day shift at a high paying job.) Besides, at least one of the videos will at least, even remotely address your problem.

P.S. Its never too late, that mentality is a contributing factor to why "YouTube is the only good option"

P.S.S. What is with the VSnake Emoji, Is it some kind of meme i am unfamiliar with.

P.S.S.S. Is the absence of VSnake in the Emoji Movie (and no I have not seen it) your biggest problem with the film aside from the cancelation of Popeye?

P.S.S.S.S. I admit to being a little ignorant on some topics.

Good point. I might have took it literally, maybe even misunderstood it.

However, I am going to keep up all of the replies for archival purposes.

This :VSnake: is just me, I'm the only one overusing it.

That mentality is the one everyone has, it will never change.

I have a job, don't worry, my stuff is far from becoming my job (but I still try) :VSnake:

About the VSnake, Thanks for the clarification.

As for the mentality bit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwCoxmGsoWA

And about the job, whilst I was talking about those without such a job, I appreciate the clarification on your part.

Let's be honest, Youtube will just kill itself and die like Myspace.
I just want to see people brainstorm how "Ourtube" would turn out, how it should be done, what features should be used, etc.
you can do anything, apple was in a garage
