What are your favorite films by Hayao Miyazaki
My favorite film of all time directed by him is Spiritied Away. My brother and I loved it back when we were kids and we first watched when it was showed on the old Cartoon Network show Fridays. We both loved it ever since.

Is Miyazaki the Walt Disney of Japan? I believe so because he makes the best anime films ever!

What are your favorite films by Hayao Miyazaki? And do you all believe that he's the Walt Disney of Japan?

"Nausica: The Valley of the Wind" is my favorite, followed by "Princess Mononoke"
This but the otherway around.
I don't know, the only ones I've watched were just garbage because of their very rushed endings (Ponyo and Howl's moving castle, the latter being the worst offender by including yet an other plotpoint resolved in a minute during the ending) :VSnake:

I tried watching a few Hayao Miyazaki films... Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, etc. But they were just too weird for me. I couldn't even make it through the whole film before giving up. I think I just don't understand anime. I prefer a good western animated film any day.

I don't see anything weird or creepy at all with Spritied Away. I have seen a bit of Howl's Moving Castle, but I don't see anything werid with that Ghibli movie either.
I watched a selection of them in my Japanese classes on days where we'd be chillin'. Was good.

I remember watching and liking Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle and Kiki's Delivery Service. Good times.

Princess Mononoke
I was surprised by the cast (voices) used in the English translation version, Minnie Driver, Claire Danes, Billy Bob Thorton...
My neighbour Totoro ... Just a feeling, no real reason. -Because actually all of his movies I've seen so far were great pieces of art.
- coming from someone who actually doesn't like Anime.
Howl's Moving Castle

it's the only Miyazaki movie I've ever watched, but it's pretty damn good
I've never knew that Dakota and Elle Fanning were both the stars for the english dub version of My Neighbor Totoro until I did some research on it. Of course Disney was the one that translated it.

Howl's Moving Castle, I wouldn't consider it a favorite, though.
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind is probably my favourite. I like Porco Rosso and The Cat Returns too.

HOW THE HELL DID I FORGET THE CAT RETURNS!

The Baron is one of my fave animated characters. I am so ashamed.

Generic answer but I like Spirited Away the most.

Kaguya-Hime no Monogatari is my favourite studio Ghibli film overall though.
I think Spirited Away was really good just like ever other great animated movie such as Toy Story, Inside Out, Shrek, Beauty & The Beast, Zootopia, Up, Finding Nemo, Pinocchio, Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs, Despicable Me, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Tangled, Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, The Iron Giant, and Frozen.

Here are some other Studio Ghibli films that I've never seen yet but I think they all sound great:

1. Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind

2. Princess Kaguya

3. Porco Rosso

4. From Up on Poppy Hill

5. Whisper of the Heart

6. The Secret World of Arrietty

7. When Marnie Was There

What do you guys think of these films? I can tell that they are all awesome.

Watched Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke recently for the first time, and all I gotta say is "wow". I don't know how he comes up with this stuff, but I am glad as hell he does, because those two were some of the greatest movies I have ever seen.

Also, Grave of the Fireflies was an amazing movie that I never want to see again.
