What are your favorite films by Hayao Miyazaki
My favorite film of all time directed by him is Spiritied Away. My brother and I loved it back when we were kids and we first watched when it was showed on the old Cartoon Network show Fridays. We both loved it ever since.

Is Miyazaki the Walt Disney of Japan? I believe so because he makes the best anime films ever!

What are your favorite films by Hayao Miyazaki? And do you all believe that he's the Walt Disney of Japan?

"Nausica: The Valley of the Wind" is my favorite, followed by "Princess Mononoke" and "The Wind Rises"

I own every Ghibli film. He's a genius.

My other favorite film by him is Kiki's Delivery Service. I remember when my mom rent it form the movie rental store back where we live in Nebraska as kids. We both loved it and it's now my brother's favorite film by Ghilbli. I think I was around 7 or 8 years old at the time.

Howls Moving Castle, Spirited Away, Kikis Delivery Service and Ponyo. Those are my favourite movies from him. I do agree but there is almost some other similar people who made good anime tv shows and movies. Really love the art style and story.

Edit: Spirited Away is probably my first movie I watched from him. Watched it a lot because it was my favourite.

Kiki's is amazing. An easy #5, after Spirited Away.
Princess Kaguya was actually very very good, which sadly came as a shock after the garbage that was "When Marnie was There". I know that Miyazaki wasn't responsible for that film, but still.
Princess Mononoke for its English translation and adaptation.

Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away for their originals.
These are the films that I've never seen by Miyazaki yet:

1. Ponyo

2. Howl's Moving Castle

3. A Castle In The Sky (Although I've seen a bit of that one)

4. The Wind Rises

And of course...

5. My Neighbor Totoro

1. It's an okay film. While still great, it sits in the middle of his films (primarily because it's aimed at children)

2. A must-watch. Considered one of his best films

3. Just like Howl's, except even more important as it has a real cultural impact. (For example, the Iron Golems in Minecraft are based on the CITS robots)

4. AMAZING. Some people may find it hard to watch as it's very slow-paced and it's a biography about the guy who invited the Japanese WW2 Zero planes, but it's an amazing story and a very different kind of war film. (it focuses primarily on the man's aspirations to build airplanes and surpass German technology despite his low budget and family hardships rather than the war itself.)

5. Depending on which dub you get it's either a classic or meh. It's a very good children's film, but it's a little shallow as a result. Still a must-watch.

Porco Rosso is good, but it's not as good as some of his others in my opinion.

Nausica is just an amazing film in general. I think it's pretty difficult to top.

Nobody here mentioned "The Count of Caligoroso" or however you spell it. Everyone forgets about that movie.

I actually never found it as part of a Miayzaki set or solo. I snagged it in a now outdated Lupin movie collection.

I have an anniversary collection that includes every Ghibli film up to Princess Kaguya, and I own Marnie seperately.

Honestly it's the only movie DvD I actually use.
