I own every Ghibli film. He's a genius.
I own a bunch of pins of old but gold shows, Sailor Moon, Just about 2 for every Ghibli movie, Evangelion
My other favorite film by him is Kiki's Delivery Service. I remember when my mom rent it form the movie rental store back where we live in Nebraska as kids. We both loved it and it's now my brother's favorite film by Ghilbli. I think I was around 7 or 8 years old at the time.
Edit: Spirited Away is probably my first movie I watched from him. Watched it a lot because it was my favourite.
Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away for their originals.
1. Ponyo
2. Howl's Moving Castle
3. A Castle In The Sky (Although I've seen a bit of that one)
4. The Wind Rises
And of course...
5. My Neighbor Totoro
2. A must-watch. Considered one of his best films
3. Just like Howl's, except even more important as it has a real cultural impact. (For example, the Iron Golems in Minecraft are based on the CITS robots)
4. AMAZING. Some people may find it hard to watch as it's very slow-paced and it's a biography about the guy who invited the Japanese WW2 Zero planes, but it's an amazing story and a very different kind of war film. (it focuses primarily on the man's aspirations to build airplanes and surpass German technology despite his low budget and family hardships rather than the war itself.)
5. Depending on which dub you get it's either a classic or meh. It's a very good children's film, but it's a little shallow as a result. Still a must-watch.
1. Porco Rosso
2. Kiki's Delivery Service
3. Castle in the Sky
4. The Wizard of Earthsea
5. Howls Moving Castle
Nausica is just an amazing film in general. I think it's pretty difficult to top.
Nobody here mentioned "The Count of Caligoroso" or however you spell it. Everyone forgets about that movie.
Honestly it's the only movie DvD I actually use.
