Why I Think Gaming Culture Should Have Never Went Mainstream

Do you miss the days when gaming & nerd culture wasn't mainstream? Cause I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ do, & here's why.
1: It creates unfunny ♥♥♥♥ like Dorkly, Big Bang Theory, & the rest of the "WERE HIP WITH GAMERS & NERDS!!!!" pandering ♥♥♥♥ no one really likes, it always is revolving around someone saying something gaming related without a punchline & for some reason that means we are automatically supposed to laugh at it, nerds & gamers (not all) aren't that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dumb, we like well written ♥♥♥♥, we just don't eat up terribly written gamer pandering humor like PIXELS, we expect better ♥♥♥♥.
Examples: The wannabe nerds at schools that shout out "I TOOK AN ARROW TO THE KNEE HUR HUR!" "*Insert GLaDOS quote*" "*Insert unfunny Borderlands quote*"

2: Kids get involved, I dunno about you, but I hate the idea of a bunch of elementary students shouting out game references & making underground ♥♥♥♥ that should stay underrated out in the open, they scream on mics, inflate the idea of corporations putting microtran$action$ in games, & overall ruin the fun for other gamers, especially knowing some game companies dumb down their own games for casual gamers.

3: It makes gaming corporations more greedy, gaming before EA was more involved, they actually put more effort into what they are trying to make & polish it as much as they could cause you didn't have no internet service to update your game, & the limited space meant you had to squeeze as much milage as you could out of the hardware, now that corporations see the cash cow that is the mainstream gamer audience, they think of that as a opportunity to make pandering ♥♥♥♥ dumb masses will buy & real gamers will ignore, such as the oversaturated market of overly simplified microtran$actional games.

4: The small community is lost, with a smaller multiplayer base like Phantasy Star Online, one great benefit is that it's a small community, you can get to know eachother, & get more involved with eachother in the game, like a small town, until that small town becomes a big city, & when it becomes a big city, it becomes more soul less, cold, & ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, much like how when you went on a Unreal Tournament server back then, you would find pleseant people on the chats, nowadays, finding an actually pleseant person on CS:GO is virtually impossible

5 & Final: More inexperienced gamers flood in, ever had that one friend who said he was a gamer but was heavily inexperienced? Couldn't play Mario for jack ♥♥♥♥? Doesn't know how to review a RPG? Claims Strategy games sucks even though it his him who sucks at the game? Well that's what we got when idiots who shouldn't have joined gaming come in, I'm ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tired of these dumbasses, go back to playing on your tablet or watching the next ♥♥♥♥♥♥ season of Big Bang Theory.

There would not be different games, maybe some but videogame industry would have fallen years ago.

You lost me the second you started whining. Then you dropped off the face of the known Earth when you began saying corporations were greedy. What am I looking at if not a list of greedy demands? You want your games at your price and to hell with anything else.

Rest easy, trigger. The gaming industry has already created all the small community you could ever want, and Steam helped it along. The main complaints are the exact same consumers fire against big companies: not enough of anything.

And that's okay. It's that constant desire for better products and services that drives producers forward. I'm all for a good vent, you do not want to get me started on ADHD squeakers who don't know teamwork until someone teaches it to them, but I already know that the industry won't respond to my complaints. Why should they? They have already supplied the means to ban them ,and the means to avoid clans, servers, and games they pop up in.

In short, they are doing everything they can within the realm of reasonable rights, but you somehow elect to call them greedy. If they are so greedy, take a hike. Nobody forces you to spend money here.

Asteriods and Centipede were FUN. The hi-score was nice, but it wasn't THE game itself.

Half the fun in games is getting there. Not the GRIND to get loot/gold/power/scores. That's a cop-out to extend games.

You seem to have a chip on your shoulder about the younger generation of gamers so I have to ask...how old are you?

It's ironic to think these kids are running your experience when you seem to be a child yourself, or at least as immature as one, what with all the finger pointing and banter about non-issues.

You seem to think gaming should be this privileged culture and only allow those you seem to deem worthy of when you seem to be part of the underlying problem with it.

Stick to your games, stop worrying about what others enjoy, drop the holier-than-thou attitude and you might actually learn to have fun.
