If you want to CONTROL people, LABLE THEM, and take their guns away, and slowly their freedoms. This is a tactic often used by Communists and even Hitler who wanted to control the population of people. DEVIDE and CONQURE.
Study some history. Watch some good documentaries on Hitler, Communists, and what they did to achieve their goals. They used
1. The media to spread Propaganda
2. They DEVIDED people into GROUPS
3. They put groups of people against other groups
4. They caused unrest
5. They used Public Education to indoctrinate and brainwash young kids into thinking the way they wanted them to.
6. They banned gun ownership.
7. They removed their property ownership.
History does repeate itself! These evil powers are still at work trying to do this to America. They are using all these tactics in hopes of one day bringing down America, and turning it into a one world government of socilists, communists, and total government control of all people.
It's not about Guns, Race, or Religion. It's about population CONTROL.
I do think that, labels are good to a point. The issue about labels are that people often associate them with the bad part. "Politician" for example. Or "brony" "furry" "FNAF fan" as other, more controversial examples (that do help prove my point on why labels aren't treated as they should).
If people just treated labels as just that: labels; with no higher or lower opinion of seeing someone with a label, there wouldn't be an issue with them. Instead, people define others as the other person's label, or even some people have their label define themselves.
That was not fixed, you just broke it!
Such self awareness.
What are you going to do with the rest of humanity, or with any other concepts? Just forget they exist? Of course not, you just file them as groups. Stereotpyes. Things more or less alike. What's a square? Can you picture one? How dare you not immediatley picture all squares right away! All squares are equal, you insensitive prick!
And of course, that's what the very idea of "labels" is all about. Who cares if you are labeled? I am a human. So are you. I'm also a nerd. And I am a Marine. And I am white. And I am heterosexual. And I am a mottorcylist. And I am a horseman. And many other things. But you don't need to know all those and can't. You just have images of what those things are. Everyone does.
But then some ****-sucking ***-tards got it into their heads that people were defined by labels, rather than just being what they were and falling under a category. You know, because they're victims of what other other people call them. For instance, my stove is not a stove, it's just a conduction-cooking device mounted atop an oven because I say it is so. I should probably stop oppressing it, but I don't think I will.
Labels are a fact of life. The contrary idea, that you can always be your own person and always be appreciated, is just idiocy borne of selfishness, and more importantly, victimhood. You don't need to be what people label you as. Get over yourselves. I say that with confidence as I geek out on a computer as a Marine.
I'm guessing you're talking about labels that limit the description of your personality (not including sex, nationality etc.) and make as if you're a clone of anyone else who also has that label which I agree because we shouldn't limit ourselves with labels because there is more to us than one word and everyone's personality changes.
yeah you put it in words better than I did. This is what im talking about, not just the fact that they are limiting, its just silly to me that people create labels for themselves and then use it as some kind of prize they hold to try and seem greater than other people. Labels arent everything and as I said I would rather be defined by what ive done in life than just "hispanic".
Pretty solid reply thank you. Only thing I can pick at, is I find it silly that you are equating labeling inanimate objects to humans. Another user did this and I forgot their reply but they are not the same. An oven is an oven... the oven doesnt care what you call it. The oven isnt sentient, its only capable of doing what its been programed to do. Humans are interesting creatures that are capable of emotions and change. Labels are so restrictive and everyone defines specific labels differently. I enjoy cycling right, I commute on a bike but I dont consider myself a "cyclist" and I can bet alot of cyclist wouldnt consider me a cyclist either. I dont cycle for working out, I do it because its transportation and its kinda fun. I guess this dives into elitisim, but some would view my cycling habbit as nothing more than a means of transportation.. therefore I wouldnt be a "cyclist". Labels can be good, but I think many people ruin it by creating this false sense of power.
I guess I kind of just contradicted my own thread by saying that labels can be good sometimes but oh well, I like sparking conversation.
Also, thank you for your service.
Classes I can see are a bit stupid to be labels, it doesn't really matter as there is wild variation in the classes and the requirments of the labels are hazy at best, apparantly there are even more than 3 and it's just confusing.
I can see why religious tags are there because religions are much more strict than ideologies however agnostic is lesser known and would probably be better replaced with "unsure" or "indifferent".
Gender/sex/I-really-don't-wanna-get-into-this-argument is kinda needed as it's obvious in most cases and are needed to keep things like sports fair and id generally useful "Yeah the girl was nice" is much better than "Yeah the person was nice" because it feels more human and much more discriptive to the person by just changing a word.
Same thing for black/white/asian/hispanic you can probably tell and is good for descrription yet useless for much else, however stuff easily not seen like 50% jamaican, 25% korean, ,10% Irish, 10% african and 5% english is just not needed.
