Destruction in video games
I was wondering if there were any games with good destructible environments, I know crysis is pretty good, Rainbow six siege has cool wall destruction and red faction guerrilla is also good, but is there anything else? I always look at tech demos and UE4 fracture mapping and wish they were in modern games. Is anything close to it?

really? I played Sims 2 for a long time I didnt know the characters could destroy anything in the game, has that changed in Sims 3? How do they do it? the characters I mean
You wall them off in a room, place a single oven in the middle, wait until they burn to death and then demolish all the walls and sell the oven.

So good.
Sounds fun.

While these suggestions have nice destructible environments, they still all use very basic and clunky large polygon mesh mapped on the structure, or the item just despawns. I'm looking for a well mapped destructible mesh environment, not cubed based. Closest thing I can think of to that is red faction guerrilla.

The Battlefield games are pretty good for it.

have you seen the enviroment of 7 days to die?
to be clear I do understand you are looking for hyper realism enviroment but I have to tell you a lot of peoples understanding of the visual quality of current voxel is way out of date.

take this screenshot for example: This is a voxel game.

battlefield 1 has a lot!

eh, its meh at best. its got a large amount of destructible buildings but the destruction is very clunky and not dynamic like in the clips.
the first 2 videos have the same destruction mechanic as bf1. This is because games haent reached that advanced level of destruction physics

If you want action movie style destruction, I'd reccomend the Just Cause series.

no only enemy buildings get destroyed

Wasn't there some FPS game 4 or so years or so ago where you could shoot or blow through most of the environment, which made the multiplayer look very exciting. Kind of like the first Red Factions multiplayer. You never know when someone is going to dig a hole straight into you base.

I knew voxels were being used in games like that, what I want to know is if it has a mesh mapped on a large portion of the map.

I've played around with them before. Its plenty of fun, but the destruction is limited to large pieces of things flying off. Not a crumble mechanic like in the clips.
