Why do pc gamers make fun of console gamers?

many consolers confuse presenting factual hard data backed by multiple articles as 'an insult'.
The larger concern I have is how is it that young people are taught that they can hold any view they want despite facts presented to the opposite and nobody should hold them accontable for being literally factually incorrect. that its somehow an insult to do so.
basically saying 'anyone who trys to disprove my opinion that the world is flat is being unfair and insulting to me'

no my comment is related to the other thread in off topic that is making various suggestions such as 'anyone who doesnt play a cross platform game is not a gamer' and 'there are more console gamers then PC gamers even though they provide literally zero evidence to support that position'

It's fairly obvious really. We are superior in almost any way imaginable. Exclusives? Ha! Graphics? What's a PS4 Pro? Controller? No...well unless you have a steam controller or some sort of XInput compatible controller. Not to mention we also have various emulators.

PC is superior in some ways, such as the width of gaming selection and hardware and software options.

That doesn't mean PC gamers are any better people.

Instead, it turns out that PC gamers can be just as much jackasses as anyone else. :P

We (PC gamers) don't make fun of console gamers and why would we? there's nothing to gain by making fun of people that don't play on the platform we play on. Also if you looked at the digital stores Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo have you will find way less shovelware then on steam and also the power gap between pc and console's are slowly closing and now to overpower the Xbox scropio your going to have to fork over way more money than what Microsoft is charging for there console

Before the 360 consoles and PCs were basically on par with each other. Now the PC is hardware wise superior.

For example: I personally thing the quality of Space Engineers is 10x better than the quality of GTA 5.

I dunno about you, but if it weren't for indie devs, I wouldn't even be spending money on Steam. Granted, that was about six and a half years ago, but still. I've been largely uninterested in typical PC gaming offerings from major publishers (with only a few exceptions).

Maybe the storefront is cluttered these days, but I don't really get my games from browsing a store and looking for stuff, but rather from hearing about games through other sources (e.g. friends), so as long as I can type in the name and beeline to something I'm pretty much satisfied.

But that's just me.

I haven't played most of the stuff that people think of when it comes to AAA games. Call of Duty, GTA, Tom Clancy games, Saints Row, Payday, Killing Floor, Far Cry, Uncharted, Halo, Tomb Raider/Lara Croft, Max Payne, Arma (though I've been meaning to play CWA) any of the Elder Scrolls games, basically all the MMOs, basically all the MOBAs, anything Counter-Strike, Warcraft, Diablo (though I have played Torchlight 1), and so on. So I basically have no first-hand information on their quality, but obviously their quality isn't exactly the most important factor in whether I'm interested in purchasing them. (I'm not even sure how many of these count as AAA but I think these all do. I wanted to include some open-world survival games but I have a hunch that a good number of those count as indie -- like DayZ, Ark, Rust, Minecraft, and so on. Regardless though that's not a genre I'm interested in, generally speaking.)

(Big-name publishers' games that I've been interested, that I can think of off the top of my head: Mirror's Edge, the Thief games, ES4 Oblivion, NWN2, Tales of Symphonia, Tales of Berseria, the Atelier games, and basically everything from Falcom if they count as a major publisher which I think they don't in the west. And I guess a few Valve games (Portal, Portal 2, Team Fortress 2).)

It's the loud minority in pretty much every situation. No gamer I know personally actually spends time on YouTube videos arguing about consoles vs PCs or anything like that, I think it's just a teenage thing. There is literally barely any difference between PS4 and XB1 and a PC of the same price when they were released, esecially here in the UK where PC parts are more expensive.
There are equally as many Sony Ponies, as there are X-BOTS as there are PC Elitists and all 3 of them lie just as much as the other to defend their chosen platform. Contrary to popular belief, PC gaming is usually not cheaper, simply because you end up buying more games on Steam than you EVER would've got on a console because of sales, believe me they're addictive. Lets not be forgetting that chasing rainbows is a big problem with many PC gamers too, constantly trying to get better performance for no reason at all etc.
I game on PC because I prefer this platform and I much prefer Borderlands 2 at 120fps rather than 30. I don't have to delete games to make room for other games either.
Everybody should literally just play what they want, end of.
