their policy changes are getting pretty stupid

havent really felt it for what i use yt for tho, apart from less material on there since those creators are slwoly getting rid of it, moving over to better suited platforms

Flagging videos is too open to abuse. It's being used as a tool to deny money to youtubers and to try to get whole channels shut down simply for voicing criticism. People should be penalized harshly for falsely flagging videos. Youtube itself also tends to enforce strikes on channels which aren't actually violating any of their guidelines. It's strange, because even in cases where the strike is clearly false, sometimes they remove the strike and sometimes they choose to just enforce it anyway. There's no consistency.

Youtube also has issues with subscribers. It randomly unsubs people and often fails to show notifications to subscribers about new videos. This has been going on for many months.

Then there's the issue with ads, which has caused many users to turn to alternate revenue streams like merchandise and patreon, but that's a whole seperate can of worms.

The only reason that youtube is still running is that there's no viable alternative for content creators to use. Even people who have been running a channel for many years don't understand what the hell is going on with youtube lately. I think it's only a matter of time before somebody figures out how to provide a better alternative, and at that point, youtube's days are numbered.

Youtube needs to get it's ♥♥♥♥ together. Unfortunately, I just don't see that happening.

Problem is that running a video-streaming site as fast and with the qauility of Youtube is extremely expensive.
I dont know if its true but i heard that Google loses money because of Youtube.

Even if this is true, it's not gonna be a problem, since Alphabet still is making profits, running YT at a loss can simply give them decent tax breaks.
