How is adding a three thump repeating base line to a song a remix. There are crap versions of Nightcore just like their are crap versions of other genres. There are also great versions, and I can easily point to songs I prefer done Nightcore style. Cause they are the good variety. Hell, I even like a Nickleback song thanks to it.

What can actually happen is it eliminates certain issues with the singer's voice.
Look up "The Vanilla Queen" by Golden Earring and "Requiem for a Dream" by Dj Bless aka Sutter Kain to see what I'm talking about.
