Like with any ideology or social movement, you're going to have people who support it while being considerate to others who might not agree. Then you have the fanatics that take it a step too far and ruin the original idea.
LOL that was a bunch of pissed off wives prior to the prohibition because their husbands were at the bar all day instead of earning a dollar. That and religious aspects of course. Carrie Nation was her name. The movement was called the Temperance Movement.
It's a touchy subject, to be sure. Some people feel they don't get enough common decency from others because they're black or gay, or whatever the big "issue" is these days. I find it's better to just take life as it is and not give a damn about what others might say or think.
