More games need LGBT characters

I myself am straight however I believe games should be including an LGBT character. Including he lead playable character. Bioware has this right though its more neutral as you can pick. Games need to make some of their characters permanently gay. Its 2017 now and this idea that LGBT people should not be represented is asinine. Games with a fixed character such as "HITMAN" for example (not saying Hitman should do it since he's already established) should write their characters to be LGBT with no option to change it. Whats fair is fair and frankly too bad if you are uncomfortable with it. I'm straight and I have no problem with it.

Sorry if I phrased it badly but I was explaining why they are voicing they're opinion wrong.
And yes I would class OP as SJW when someone says there shouldn't be more LGBT characters and instantly get called homophobic.

IMO unless it plays some sort of role in the game plot/gameplay there is zero reason to distinguish sexuality at all. Hitman might be gay for all I care, but the game doesn't need to tell me if he is gay or straight if it doesn't matter to the game.

In a game like the Sims or something I would be ok with with having the choice to make your character gay. But how would having gay Spartans in halo (or whatever other game you would care to insert) improve the game play or storyline?

Going out of your way to make a character gay when said characters sexual orientation is completely irrelevant to gameplay and storyline would only hurt said game and in no way help the LGBT community

Even when I was a teenager, it was well known that along with puberty and adolescence and increasing interest and curiosity about sex, there was also an amount of potential doubt and confusion.
It was also FAR LESS acceptable (socially, legally or even that 'sub-social of the schioolyard or hanging out with your friends') gay or lesbian were really taboo and guaranteed bully-fodder, so of course there were absolutely NO out gays or lesbians whatsoever.
This curiosity and confusion is hardly indicative of an eventual comfort zone of orientaiton. It's a result of incomplete information, experience, and floods of conflicting hormones.
Many teens expåeriment and because typically they will have a far greater understanding of their own gender and company of such, typically may find it mroe accepting at that time and therefore cosnider that they may be gay or lesbian - it's not so much "wanting to be cool" - as "needing to find ones' own identity" which is a MASSIVE factor in the adolescent phase.

Some people don't realise the truth of their orientation until middle age.

A game that's main character is a gay transsexual bounty hunter (or whatever typical occupation a games main character would have) would only be successful if it were a comedy and was mocking the stereotypes of transsexuals. So please explain how that would help the LGBT community?
