It's funny how ever since Steam kinda lowered it's standards, the floodgate opened to poor quality low-rated games. I hate having to sift through free-to-play games to find games in X price range, so I went to the most expensive and went backwards because it's faster. The majority of what I'm seeing is games that are rated very poorly. It seems vastly more so than positive. I honestly believe Valve is killing itself with poor business decisions. If a game is so awful that 9/10 reviews are poor, why continue to allow it to be listed? It's like Steam is becoming to games as Schlitz turned into for beers.

My BS radar went off as soon as you couldn't figure why "Y" amount of dishonnest people & "Z" amount criminally dishonest people wouldn't manipulate a easy to manipulate system like Steam Greenlight. This is a given in any exploitable system, because ALL people are not honest.

I didn't read through the entire thread, but ... Is op basically asking for a steam that only provides AAA games? ....of course not - I guess.
But what do you consider "bad" games? I for example think that the entire "point and click " genre is "bad"... but that's just my taste.
Or do you mean low budget indie games?
Or the RPG maker games that are flooding steam?

Look shady developers on Greenlight can buy votes with keys and incentives, Which is next to no different when reviewers shill for positive reviews and don't declare they are paid for promotions.

It not what games that crap games can get on Steam is my concern, but how they can be manipulated to be put on Steam? Well via the Greenight process, because ALL people are not simply honest and some are criminally dishonest. That's a given in life and on Steam.

The more I read the Steam forums the more I see Steamphilla as a thing, gosh and lol.

Its not rly about me, and i will stay for sure, have to if i want to play "my" games, but thats not the point, to me its more the point, that steam, to me, is standing for "Long-Term-Fun-Games", which everydeveloper should keep in mind, even if this thing is nowadays for early acces and little studios trying to get a foot in that door..., another part of the topic. It definitely has changed its face and not all statements are longer thrustworty, its no shame to be honest about it, but there are often strange arguments trying to not let look so...functional.

I actually think it's kind of good that steam lowered it's standards for games, sure there's a lot of filth but at the same time, a lot of good indie games may have never seen the light of day if they weren't on steam.

Steam just needs to add more moderation to what games should be allowed on greenlight and Steam. It also doesn't help that there are groups out there that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ devs can pay to have them greenlight their trash.

No I actually think it was a money grabbing scheme. Tally up what they was suing JS and that Steam Group it was over 28 million in total or something crazy like.

No way could those two guys of earned 28 million based on the quality of that catalogue of games if they worked till they was 75. It not like they was even getting better over time after all those years shoveling out that crap.
