how certain rubik's cubes 'feel'
I've seen too ♥♥♥♥ing many people say "this cube feels clicky, crunchy, smooth, sandy, bumpy, dry. airy, silky" etc. without even giving any clue as to what they mean. this is really annoying and i'd like to know which ones are good or bad.

I'd just pick up whatever looks good to be honest. But yeah, I don't really see what describing a Rubik's Cube as "sandy" is supposed to entail.

People use these terms (such as clicky, smooth, sandy, and crunchy) when describing how a speedcube "feels." i'm confused as to what the hell they mean by this, and i can't find any answers through google

Okay, so what is smooth or crunchy?

Do you really need someone else to explain this to you? Smooth clearly means that the cube turns smoothly, that is to say with little resistance and probably little noise. Crunchy is pretty much the opposite.

It means basically what they say. Crunchy means it crunches when you turn it (probably due to a spring). Sandy means the lube, if any, sucks, and feels like it's grinding. I personally like the Dayan cubes, though mine finally broke after 3 years.
You can also just pick up a rubik's cube and lube it with some silicon lube. But the 'speed cubes' are generally better and need no lube at all. You want it to be smooth when you want it to be, and still be able to snap into place as you need to. The speed cubes have different center mechanisms to do this than the generic rubik's cube does.

No there aren't. It's all ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ made up on the spot to describe how it feels to turn the cube. Descriptions that make you want to rub it are good. Don't overthink this.

So good movements: smooth, silky, airy
Bad movements: clicky, crunchy, sandy, dry.

So? That doesn't describe them at all
