Do you think the Xbox Scorpio will be comparable to high end PC's?
Apparently Microsoft is set on making this a very powerful consolle, and enough to play it at 4k. I am curious what my fellow PC gamers think of it, and whether Microsoft are just pulling our legs to build hype, or is this machine realllly going to deliver high end PC experience? Also if it is, what do you predict its power to be comparable to?

Halo Develloper says Scorpio is "Beefier than expected." Source: http://gamingbolt.com/xbox-scorpio-beefier-than-expected-says-halo-developer

Also if it is very powerfull, do you think it would have any affect ont he PC gaming industry? Like maybe less people will go to PC if they can buy a console that is powerful, and at a good price.

Support is undeniably true. Plus, judging by the first hardware leak, Scorpio has a better GPU than the PS4Pro.

Whether it hits that target often? Probably not, 1600p60 is better anyway. Either way, 1440p+ consoles are a massive step up and definitely worthy of the $500-ish price tag it'll probably launch with.

NO. For many reasons.

Consoles are forever stuck with the technology that existed on their release date. There will be better computer components in just a month or two later.

I will say that it's good to see a console at least trying to deliver a high end experience, instead of sticking with the average because it's cheaper.

Sure it's nice to see consoles stepping it up, but they still don't have native 4k support. Even computer hardware can barely do 4k as it is.
A high-end PC? No. A high end PC has two 4Ghz decacore processors. A high end PC has two Nvidea GTX Titan Xs. It has 32GB of RAM. It has 4TB of storage, 4K support, several screens and more FPS than you can physically process. A $300 console will never beat a high-spec PC.

At best, Scorpio will be only slightly faster than the One.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA, No.

Either way Xbox has no exclusives. Not worth buying for one game in a five year life span.

That's not a high end pc tho. That's money wasting for the e-peen. None of the guys who spend 10.000 bucks on a computer actually play games on them.

Nah, I was thinking of a graphical workstation PC.

Kind of irrelevant here.

It probably will be comparable to high-end PCs.

...High-end PCs from a couple years ago, that is.

they're high-end computers. you could use one for gaming if you wanted to. almost all games would run very well on one.

Workstations use workstation cards, not titan Xs. Those cards alone are 4000€ or more, and not made for gaming. Plus it gets kind of unfair to compare a $500 machine to a $10.000 one. I believe op was referring to computers in the 1.5-2k range by "high end".

... they can use Titan Xs, as they are graphic GPUs.

Of course they can but they don't, because workstation cards are more effective for certain tasks, and vice versa.
