1) The "moody teenager" phase is not being emo, being edgy, being depressed nor being 'dark' - it's the limited capability for expression of the physiological result of adolescent physical development conflicting with varying degrees of emotinal development all frustrated at being the dissonance within societal conventions and law.
2) Clinical Depression is a serious illness. However it should not be self-diagnosed (nothing should, but partiicualarly any mental or psychological conditions) and nor should it be confused with sadness, grief or the aforementiond frustrations of adolescence.
3) It's normal, natural and often helpful for people to express their frustrations and problems. In cases of negative mindset and depressive illness, this can actually help a lot.
4) Unfortunately, whether oversensitivity, more serious underlying problems, undeveloped empotional capabnilities or any other reasons, some young people do indeed suffer from clinical depression and there is a genuine risk.
5) If you don't wish to read such threads, there's no obligation.
6) Regardless of which reason is ultimately sourcing the production of such a thread, there's no logical, jsutifiable reaosn to respond in a mean or inconsiderate way reagrding those posters.
Should they be attention seekers or overly melodramatic, that's there prerogative and by c responding in inflammatory way is only serving their need.
