Favorite support or side characters...
You know, the guys and gals that help you get to save the day. The REAL heroes backing up the charismatic jack ♥♥♥ you are playing, who are important to saving the day. Pick them from film, T.V., games, and heck, why not novels too!

Here are a couple.

Tali: She needs more props. She is one of the key members of your crew, and lays it on the line every time she joins you. Without her help, characters die! She is a leader of her people, 100% got your side, and if you were to fall, you know she would have picked up your cause, and rallied the troops in your name. She's the only one the others would have rallied behind.

Oscalot: MGS5 mainly. You know he is an ♥♥♥ from the start. He is the only one who knows the full story... Yet he is literally your rock, your reason, and you get the feeling he actually is supporting you despite your assigned roll. He does right for you above the call.

Irish: Drunk, unreliable, annoying. Yet weirdly charming, and John couldn't have succeeded without him at his side. He was a memorable companion, who goes out poorly....

What are some of yours....

Good addition! I wonder why people think OT is full of asshats!
Probably because nobody around here understands what a joke is.

I've narrowed it down to Midna, Samwise Gamgee, and Donkey.

Jack and Samara from mass effect 2.

I use to send just those two in and they would tear sh#t up all by themselves. Didnt need to lift a finger.
Jack was always my heavy. I rarely rolled with Samara. Usually Grunt, s he was a CQ monster. Jack lays em out, Grunt digs the graves...

Dang... I only have the Legion loyalty mission and the ending... Oh well! Play through number 12 incoming!

Chance of Needing Somebody +45%
A lovely sidekick that always helped you through Dark Souls 1 and a long forgotten hero in 3.
He has reached meme worthy status, being the icon of pagan worship and friendly assistance of others all over gaming, apart from the elite Knight armour guy, he is the face of Dark Souls.
Of course, one of the best side kicks has to be Solaire of Astora from Dark Souls 1.

When you tell one let me know! I love funny stuff!

Sam was the real Rings hero, even in the novels.

And Donkey was great! Provably Eddie Murphy's second greatest role!

Well, Human players can deal more damage and survive longer, but apart from Tarkus he's considered one of the best NPC summons you can get.

Ahhh Tarkus...
The memories of leaving him alone, fighting the Iron Golem
Does it ever feel like in superhero tv shows sidekicks do all the work if so then I say all sidekicks are valuable in their own way

Yeah. Arrow felt like that. Take away his two sidekicks and the hero was just a dude wandering around at night, shooting dudes... The sidekick is usually a moral compass for the hero. In addition to filling in gaps in the heroes "Ass Kicking" skill set.

No, Tarkus simply fell through the floor and invaded hell, leaving his armour behind.
