Why is Gardevoir loved so much more than Gallade?

They're both equally my favorite Pokemon but it seems like people don't like Gallade just because he conflicts with the whole "Gardevoir is muh waifu" thing. Even then people who don't waifu Garde still seem to love her so much more and seem to think Gallade doesn't exist.

Because Gardevoir looks more human then Gallade I guess. But i'm going off of my old vore rp days, where everybody enjoys Gardevore.

I don't think anyone bases their favorite Pokemon on which one is easiest to get tho. Otherwise people wouldn't like the event Pokemon, so if anything a Pokemon being more rare means more people like it.
