The graphics of the trailers might leave you meh but this game is challegning and many times scary as balz
its more fortress building focused. You have to build a good fort and fast and the 7th day horde is serious business and each 7days the horde gets stronger.
I put off getting it for a long time because zombie genre I find kinda meh but I enjoy this game a lot. I havent played the others but it seems the others are focused more on FPS aspect of the game, this game is more avoidance and fortress building.
kinda of like a tower defense game in first person
Still one of my alltime favorite games. Has not really much in comman with DayZ (except the zombies). Its like already said, much more focused on crafting and building and plays much more like an RPG with you getting EXP, level and skills/perks to unlock.
Also , voxel engine, meaning the world is totally destructable. Want to dig a 100 meter deep hole? No problem. Want to demolish that whole building? Sure, just do it.
Want to build a base into the site of that mountain? Go right ahead.
Think Minecraft + Survival RPG + Zombies.
Also, whats a big plus for me, the game is as fun in single player as in multiplayer if not even more so. From my 350 hours i played like 300 in single player and still come back for another 30-40 hours each big version update.
