Looking for a certain type of strategy game. Help me find games like this? :)

Looking for any games where it simulates battles pretty much and there's limited things you can do in the battle but the main strategy is picking your units before each round. I remember playing some flash games like this back in the day but wondering if there's any better versions of games like this on steam or anywhere.

I remember one game that was medieval themed and before each battle you had a certain amount of money you could spend on different types of units (knights / archers) and then they would either raid a castle or defend it. Also the game "totally accurate battle simulator" (TABS) was kinda like this but it was super easy and not very in depth

Ehhh 'Total War' series? Also might like 'Mount & Blade' series then aswell.

Yeah I love mount and blade even tho it's kinda different, I'm waiting for bannerlord to come out

mount and blade warband and viking conquest, viking conquest you can start as royalty and can have an army of a few hundred soldiers you can play around with, it also has custom battles.
