Possible catfish
So I just met this person seeming to be a girl on Csgo and if it is I am starting to like her. But I don't want to end up getting in the hands of some older guy trying to catfish. What should I do? There has been some things that have made me think about this as being a catfish.

I think multiplayer video-game servers are the worst place to be trying to make friends. It's not really a "social" environment, and a lot of people are there to get AWAY from other people.

Also, you just end up with a whole lot of friends who are obsessed with the one thing. Literally all but one of my friends are Bronies because I met them all on a My Little Pony RP forum (Or through people from that forum)

it's a shame too, ive met women who kick butt at games, but 13 year olds who are thirstier than a bedouin nomad stalk them daily
I've had some guy harass and stalk me because I didn't accept their friend request. People can be very pathetic and creepy. Some teenagers can be ok but I prefer people 18 or over because then hopefully they should be somewhat mature. There was one time when a little kid called me a 10 year old squeaker. Was ironic. Whats worse though is the fact that little kids are on such games as Cod and GTA always talking and giving it to people.
Usually I like to flame those people who hate on squeakers or get obsessed with a girl on a server or do other stupidly shallow things. Would counter-troll them except I don't think I have a good trolling idea for anti-squeakers specifically.

i always find it funny how kids insult people by calling people kids, squeakers and so on. and it is typically COD and GTA that have the most cancer, cringy communities of children, it sucks

Steam discussion don't usually go so well so its rather surprising for me too. And I'm a 23 year old woman so a little kid calling me a squeaker is laughable. They just say whatever without really thinking, well even a lot of adults do that too.

I think I got slightly more attention that one time I named myself Quint the Robot Girl. My avatar was WALL-E's Eve, so I was literally describing my avatar, as I've been doing for a while now, but, hey, y'know.

Of course, I picked that name knowing that that might happen, so it was kinda intentional. :P

And of course, you don't actually know my gender. I'm fine with that. If you play with me in TF2 and if I feel like using voice chat, you can probably guess it, but I don't really care. If my gender matters to you before you even know me, then you're the one who has a problem.

Gaming fandom is filled with impatient teenage boys. That's why it's full of insults and bad memes.

To be fair to the younger generation. The sort of kids who would be playing Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto probably have ♥♥♥♥ parents to begin with. So we never get to see the nice kids because they're not allowed to play CoD.

I've met women pretending to be dudes, and dudes pretending to be women. Another common thing is friends with multiple accounts, inciting drama, playing both genders, phishing as a friend and hacking with the other, pretending to be from other countries, and overall maliciousness. It's a full time game for some. The internet is wild, and Steam has loads of people who don't mind making it a dangerous place to play your games. Just play your games and don't get personal, that's my advice.

I play offline, check the feed and forums on the mobile. Occasionally Ill connect to upload a screen but I don't chat and avoid overextension of the social side. Forums are a great place to talk if you feel the urge.

Good luck.

Yes exactly that. Its the person that matters. I have friends who are male, female. And then some trans friends and whats it called gender fluid I think. People aren't easy to understand, if you can only think of the outside then you are not going to be around the best of people in life.

adults may be dumb, but kids really bring the cringe, i hate having a kid call a 19 year old man (dis guy) a kid, even when i was a younger teen they always called me kid when they got salty

Yeah its sad to have to say it, but it is usually best to be careful and avoid a lot of people. Can't be friends with anyone anyway, we all have types of people we get along with and then those we don't. Stick by those you do and avoid those you don't, can't click with everyone.

I did childcare and worked with children, so it pains me to see how they change for the worse over time. Nice and sweet to some foul mouthed misbehaved brat, not always the case but high school and puberty really change them.

Ever since I changed my avatar to my current one, every single random friend invite has been from a Furry :/
