Possible catfish

So I just met this person seeming to be a girl on Csgo and if it is I am starting to like her. But I don't want to end up getting in the hands of some older guy trying to catfish. What should I do? There has been some things that have made me think about this as being a catfish.

From watching the Steam broadcasts I've seen some but they tend to use teamspeak to talk or they are speaking a different language anyway. I like speaking using in game voice chat but since most use outside communications its rather quiet. That or people just don't voice chat at all. It's nice to chat while gaming, people need to be more social!

Its not for everyone I know, and just like another guy said some games are best avoided for voice chat, games in which you'll probably get trolled or hated on just for speaking. But its nice to chat with friends when playing a good co-op game. Sometimes I just listen to music while playing and be anti social too.

i only bought a headset for some crappy gmod RP that i regret playing, i now avoid multiplayer because the community is worse than a bootleg brazilian movie.
i spend most of my time chatting in groups, rarely using voice chat

I was advised to stay well away from the gmod rp stuff. Just have fun, don't have to voice chat. There are some games where I just mute everyone. You are here to have fun and play games afterall. But if you go the extra mile and try to make proper friends it can be hard, especially in OP's situation.

When I used to play Call of Duty: Black Ops on the PS3, I would plug in the microphone, then leave it sitting next to the TV. Because it was an effective method of "Muting All" (The only other way to do it was to manually go into the leader-board and mute each individual player, and every time a new player came onto the server, you'd have to manually mute their heavy breathing into the mic as well)

Now that I think about it, said chat was probably full of people complaining about the audio-feedback... ^^;

But that was just a phase for me. I don't play multiplayer games, and avoid anything "boyish" like the plague.

yeah, i used to play gmod rp when i was a few years younger, i now regret it, it's a more immature community than COD kids saying they laid with my mother.
And i typically do attempt to make friends, which works most of the time unless i meet a really salty person

I can understand why a female would want privacy too. Not saying this is a female because it probably isn't, but I've seen it where a server full of little hornytoads all jump on a girl that dares to talk over a mic like "OMG ITS A REAL GIRL ARE U HOT" and stuff like that.

Yeah this is usually why women tend to be quiet or stick to third party chat programs. Attention can be nice but thats unwanted attention. That or they troll you and start calling you a guy anyway, or a ♥♥♥♥♥♥. I also tend to stay away from commenting on the steam discussions as much as I can too, theres immature people everywhere.

I've had some guy harass and stalk me because I didn't accept their friend request. People can be very pathetic and creepy. Some teenagers can be ok but I prefer people 18 or over because then hopefully they should be somewhat mature. There was one time when a little kid called me a 10 year old squeaker. Was ironic. Whats worse though is the fact that little kids are on such games as Cod and GTA always talking and giving it to people.
