Please tell me exactly what it is, cause I've seen some, mostly revolves around ♥♥♥♥♥♥ clips of TV shows and crappy editing...and the infamous song that plays on most of them, which is "Wake me up"

Anime Music Video generally on YouTube. Basically you edit parts of your favorite anime, or tv show, movie, and put a song track to it.

I thought it ment alternative music video? I see a lot of amvs with movie scenes too, nonetheless a waste of time and pure cringe too.

A lot of people like them. Like some of them have 10s of millions of views on YouTube, so yeah... And people enjoy being creative and making them so that's good.

I would say no because the AMV thing is about fanmade editing clips from your favorite shows and choosing the song, rather than an actual animation created for a music video, in my opinion at least.
