What happen to these games they are so fun but every time a new one comes out it fly's under the radar with low player base for example reflex arena it's 9$ it's so fun and fast paced but only 300-350 players on ATM

Quake III is still pretty much alive.

CS-GO and TF2 pull in all the major FPS MP player base.

Nothing going to change until those games die off.

I think they are too hard for new players to get into because they are all basically clones of Quake and peple have been playing this since the 90s. Even Reflex, while it does look nice it is just another Quake clone. I have been thinking of buying it recently but I still play Quake regularly and I do not want to mess up my aim and movement because I hate the physics in Reflex, I think it is called "Pro Mode" in Quake where you can turn in the air and things. I prefer the vanilla movements.

There are two upcoming I am interested in one is Diabotical and the other is Quake Champions (although I am afraid this will be too much like Overwatch) there are now a few more videos online of gameplay both these games.

Quakers are a bit split between q3 and Quake Live, I have no idea why they do not just move to ql it is stupid to not be together especially now that ql has workshop and all of the old maps etc. They are the same games but people are too stubborn. QL is the more active one.

I guess this generation just do not really care about such games anymore, they are wanting stupid gambling boxes, cosmetics, scamming each other, fake giveaways, VAC bans, youtube celebrities, drama and esports sponsored by energy drinks etc.

I hope Quake Champions will be successful and bring a lot of players to this type of game but I have a feeling it is too late, Overwatch and csgo have a monopoly on this market, Arena shooter is too niche and times have changed...

It does look quite fun I think, I just hope there will be ctf at some point.
