I can't stand ergo proxy. It's way too slow for me to burn through.

Too slow? Te second half of the series is 10 episodes of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mind ♥♥♥♥ weirdness from the Proxies. The first half feels like blade runner stretched out over 6 hours, but the second half was the only part i took exception to, as it gets TOO busy.'

Since it hasn't been mentioned yet, Texhnolyze is a very good psychological and somewhat horror-esc anime. If you want straight up horror, watch Genocyber.

It's not that much of a psychological horror anime but Tokyo Ghoul is one of the more popular "horror" *very hard quotes* anime.

Shinsekai Yori (seriously recommend this one)

I have not heard of Death Parade, Durarara, or Shinsekia Yori. I will look them up. Texhnolyze, I HAVE seen a few episodes but I think the series has become harder to find?

I was able to acquire it just fine on Amazon. You said you're going to a "con", right? That's like a marketplace for anime or something? If so, then yeah it could be harder to find. Would be worth the effort of finding it though - very underrated show.

that's why i said it's not that much of a psychological horror. It falls under the horror category and it has some quite unsettling and creepy moments.
