I mean you don't know who I am, all you know about me is what I've said on my profile and OT. Other people are even more anonymous with their private profiles and such.

Unless you're a hacker or the government or something, in which case no one is anonymous.

You don't have to a hacker to get someone's IP and know where they live, knowing where you live and having atleast your first name is a start to find out who you are. You can find someone's IP on Steam by simply making a voice call, pretty sure there's better ways to do it and even more efficient than this one, but this is the most accessible and the one that everyone with basic knowledge can do. Wireshark is a powerful tool.

Knowing the location of someone doesn't mean you know who they are, Sure if you search around long enough you can work it out but at that point you are far beyond in stalker territory.

I'm sure when the op says he wants an anonymous chat site he means a site where he is displayed as a nobody towards every non hacker/stalker.

That's exactly what I was saying, I never stated that knowing where someone lives you know who that person is, I said that knowing the IP you'll have something to work with, and with further investigation, most of the times you can easily find everything about that person (Friends, birth date, nationality, full name, exact location, etc)
