Why can't you install games on a PS4 from a blue ray disc?
Lately got my hands on my uncle's PS4, and a copy of The Witcher 3. Had fun, but when I try to install it into the HDD, it doesn't give me an option to do so.
So, what's wrong? (Should I tell my uncle that he should buy it online to keep it inside his HDD?)

You might have too much memory that the game cant be installed. Delete a game enough so there is enough memory left.
Does the PS4 recognise the disk? if not, do a System Initiation from SAFE mode. If it does recognise the disk and you cannot play the game, then it is as i said above, a memory issue. Dont worry > new update (if your ps4 is most up-to-date) means you can use an external harddrive to play.

Probably.
And he configured the machine to show all Chinese. (Though I can understand most of them, I do not see a "装载" option, and it means "install")
And yes, it's obviously recognized. (Or else I can't play it to the point where you and Triss got ambushed)

Some games allow you to play a portion of the game while it downloads. Also change the language in Settings so you are more familiar with the language.

How much storage does the game require? How much does the PS4 HDD have total? How much of the PS4 HDD storage has been used?

I don't know the storage of the device. (Maybe 500GB? And to top it off only one game was installed within the HDD, which is MGS5: Ground Zeroes)

Ground Zeroes is not much storage. 500gb is default for original ps4. You should have room for the install. Is there any error messages appearing? Scratched disk, etc?

No?
And as I said it before, it doesn't give me an option to install the game.
