Argument against Rap music
I want to make a constructive rant against Rap genre for no real reason.

Listed below are a few reasons why Rap music isn't worth listening too.

(Not ALL rap is bad, and It can go well as a part in a pop song, but usually straight rap is terrible. I'm also not trying to offend or insult people.)

1. Lyrics

The lyrics in rap music is easily the weakest area in rap, they are very repetative and generally have no significant meaning or backstory behind them. The songs are either written by a seperate writer who knows what lyrics will 'entertain' the little 13 year olds, or by the artist just being braindead as all rappers are. The lyrics in rap mainly consist of either

a. Sex and other uneccessary innuendos

b. Drugs and alcohol

c. Crime and violence

b. Firearms and other weapons

These lyrics aren't constructive in any way and spread no positive (or any) messages, this is especially a problem considering a very large portion of people who enjoy rap music are quite young, teenagers, youth etc...

2. The 'beat'

There are two parts in rap. The 'Lyrics', and some noise that rap enthusiasts call 'beat'. This 'beat' is nothing but someone pressing a button on garageband and sticking a thump in the background. It's nothing special, and its only there to take peoples minds away from the garbage lyrics.

3. The rappers themselves

(Before I say this, I in no way intend to direct any of this argument towards African Americans, please don't get that Idea just because they are the most common race of rappers.)

The 'rappers' are usually unintelligent, ignorant, greedy people who get a piece of paper handed to them and they speak it out at a marginially faster than normal pace. Take Kanye West for example, one of the worst rap artists of this generation. He's ignorant (He claims he's a 'Musical Genius', putting himself above everyone else), He's greedy (Spewing out nonsense songs for $$$), and his music is renouned amongst people against the genre as some of the worst.

I don't understand how it's so 'Influential' or popular in todays society.

Thats all I can be bothered saying, If you wish please post a CONSTRUCTIVE, FAIR and not offensive or insultive counter argument. I will try to respond to the best of my ability.

Also if you have anything to add to my argument or have a supportive comment, feel free to comment that.

If there are any grammatical errors please don't hold it against me, I was in a rush and I'm no spelling genius.

I like Rap, because i like inspecting everything and anything on other people's culture. From customs, to religions, to music, to cuisine even, you can draw EFFORTLESSLY an endless multitude of information on other people, societies, personalities, etc. Almost every aspect of seemingly ordinary and unimportant, daily life, is a slice of culture and a fragment of something like an "unwritten identity", of sorts. You should never hide, ban or restrict free expression, the "freedom of expression" that true democracy allows for its citizens... Even if it is bad. Especially since you believe, or it actually can sometimes, be bad. Because everything and everyone should be in plain sight, so as at least you can momentarily discern, just where someone at any given time comes from and without even breaking a sweat, or trying hard to guess!

Or you can take it one step further and function akin to a double agent; trying to ignore the thing you hate something, infiltrate groups that like and use it regularly, profiling them, etc. Shhh, keep it secret!

rap up intil the late 90's was good, watch Boyz in the Hood, like most alternative music genres as soon as there's money to be made it went down hill,Hip Hop was a branch of Rap that was also good, think it's pretty much dead now

Branch? Hip hop came before rap..... Rap is more known as a west coast sound, hip hop comes from east coast

This is most probs what he's talking about. The fact you said REAL music.

Hmm, I dont really agree with it, yes there are some stupid comments about what is and what is not real music but the ones he is displaying there some of them I do agree with. Thousands of people all copying the production techniques and styles of genuinely original music producers is not evolution or progression of a genre, it is stagnation. Borrowing influences from other genres, sampling etc, I am fine with this. I think this we are in agreement.

He is saying here that anyone who thinks like this is "narrow minded", but I am not the one who has dismissed an entire genre that was born from real life issues... the things which I mentioned in my first post where hip hop culture was born from, these are real things, emotional things which people have been through and continue to go through, as opposed to lowest common denominator cheesy Disney music for 8 year old Caucasian girls who are too young/dumb/sheltered to have ever lived. There is no culture behind it, it is there for one reason only and that is to make money. It is made by men in suits with fancy offices, it is fake, it is disingenuous. This is what I mean when I will say "real music". I am saying it is honest, a true representation of the people who made it.

I know enough about music to be able to play several instruments and read and write it. My opinion stands and is valid, rap is crap.

The only reference to music you have on your incredibly long profile talking about yourself is High School Musical and One Direction...

Except he wasn't only referring to the progression of music. Even stealing music is real music, although shady business. He never said people who think this are narrow minded in every aspect of every part of music, just this subject.

Also, music doesn't need to have any emotion behind it whatsoever while being created etc. to be 'real music.'

She doesn't need to reference music on her profile if she doesn't want to so bugger off.
Who taught a white boy could bring back hip hop back

Go watch Paul Joseph Watson's recent video about pop culture. He explains very well how rap music is completely degenerative towards the progress of society.
In other words, it's degenerate art[en.wikipedia.org]? Looks like someone traded their dog whistle in for a bullhorn.
