Don't like the taste of most of them.
Don't like the smell of most of them.
Since vegetables are bitter in taste, we avoid them from a young age as a survival mechanism. (This is also why you need to be disciplined with children when it comes to food.)
...so you get an even BETTER burger.
♥♥♥♥ cooked carrots.
All this vegetable death made them taste terrible. But they were GOOD for you!. Except they had been boiled so much that drinking the water they had been boiled to death in was almost as nutritious as the vegetables could have been.
About the only exceptions to being boiled were celery and leaf lettuce. But then they were tasteless.
That and I'm a supertaster. Can't stand anything bitter. Including beer.
EXCEPT ZUCCHINI. ♥♥♥♥ zucchini.
I don't really hate vegetables. Don't like brussel sprouts much though, makes the whole house smell when you cook them.
