How old do you have to be to buy Rated R tickets for a minor?

My friend is 17 and wants to bring his friend, whos 15, to a rated r movie. Told him that would probably work, but want to know what everyone else thinks.

from a quick little search of mine it looks like only a parent or legal guardian over the age of 21 can buy rated r movie tickets for the minor

depends where you live I watched a few rated R movies in the theatre when I was 15. If they let u buy the tickets it's all good.

I don't think there are any laws forbidding it if you are in the US, but movie theaters may ban some younger ages. 15 would probably be fine though.

I would reccomend that to them, but my one friend (the 17 year old) is a paranoid recluse, i kind of want him to get out, but he wont go anywhere without his friend.
