Is fake version of windows movie maker dangerous?
So I got a windows movie maker file from a reasonable looking website and I made my video ect but then to export it to a proper file it asked to go off of the trail version.
So I know this is fake but I cant find and alternative link for a proper windows movie maker thing anywhere, is it safe for like viruses to keep it o should I just delete it?

Never trust fake software. It wouldn't need to be fake if it wasn't trying to trick you into something bad.

What website is it from? I will reverse engineer it to see if it's a virus just for fun. But if you want a good free vid editor, check out Lightworks

Yes any program pretending to be windows movie maker with the same exact name is most likely malicious, you should run a full scan of your system with kaspersky/malwarebytes anti malware/rogue killer, and remove that software. Windows Movie Maker is no longer supported, so you can't find links for it.

The installer's assembly is clean, going to look at the exe it installs in a bit, but it's probably not malicious in terms of being a virus

@PEPPERMINT, is it safe to use then as long as you don't fall into the buy a registration code scheme? Or is there other malware/virus attached. Cause silverlight update (i think) just messed up movie maker again. And the essentials installer I still have won't re-install movie maker properly.
