I've been told I am by a few overly sensitive people. Most of the time I'm being sarcastic, but I guess some of their under-developed teenage brains have issues comprehending sarcasm.

I always thought an edgelord was someone who was always serious and enjoys things such as demons, darkness, death etc. I consider them to be the opposite of someone who enjoys memes.

As for PewDiePie, I'm no fan of his (though I find him far less annoying than most youtubers in his line of work) but this fake outrage has to stop. A joke isn't a statement of belief or politics; you know it, he knows it, the audience knows it, we all know it. If you decided that someone is in any way immoral because of an attempt at humor, you deliberately chose to interpret it that way.

Black humor allows us to turn tragedy into comedy to better deal with the harder realities of life. You don't have to enjoy it or to participate in it. But you're on another planet if you think this is, to paraphrase you, a defense mechanism used by young kids to preserve their virginity (I had to read that a couple of times to make sure that's what you were saying).

I completely agree. All humor is subjective, including black humor, and while it may not be a certain person's cup of tea, it shouldn't persecuted as if the comedian is commiting the act that he's joking about. That's like calling someone a terrorist for making a joke about Abraham Lincoln's assasination.

But then you get a few adults trying to do it, just wow. For example: Pewds trying to act like an edgy 12 year old in his mid-life crisis, joking about death to all jews.

Pewds is signed into a contract with Disney. Disney has already had a history of anti-Semitic jokes in their very old cartoons, which had backlash and they attempted to distance themselves from. They also have a very young fanbase being stucked in front of this behavior.

This isn't the first time Pewds has drawn controversy for anti-Semitic jokes. It was his 9th time. He's actually trying to be edgy and look where it got him, yet some people just can't still figure it out. It's like they are completely blind to the other person at an emotional level, but still see a reaction and go wow, lets do that again, digging themselves a hole.

If you can't see how humour can make a negative a positive you don't do humour well.

Pewds is anti-nazi by constantly ridiculing the nazi' narrative. He lampoons Hilter up so much only a idiot or complete moron would actually want to be Hitler after watching Pewds lampooning it up so hard.

So now people can't even take the pee out of the worst of the extreme far alt right, because if they lampoon the extreme far alt right they get tard with the lefty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ brush.

If the barrel of that gun was pointed at their head than you may just saved a person's life. Blanks may not have bullets but they still release enough pressure to fracture a skull and rip brain tissue.

Just to clairfy I have nothing against Pewds, even he himself agreed with the drop and supports it. It's the media (on both sides) blowing it up, both he's racist and the oh he's innocent we need to attack. I'm a pretty neutral party in all that.

I'm not calling him racist, and even claiming it was a joke. But the point I was trying to make to understand the reaction of the group around him. The part about being "edgy" to drive attention and focus, even though it will cause a negative one.

I personally love black humor, such as South Park and even Rucka Rucka Ali. I see no issues with it, depending on how it is used. The term "Edgy" itself is attempting to cause a negative emotional reaction of a group, it's doing it on purpose and has no meaning behind mocking the stereotype/racism/etc or making a point that it's wrong, etc. The entire point of being edgy is to cause that negative reaction and attention from others, to actually trigger them off. It's based about being "sadistic", giving a faked sense of enjoyment, when really it's a negative.

As for the "a defense mechanism used by young kids to preserve their virginity" that was just a bit of dark satire and a joke to make those kids rethink themselves. Of course it's not, but indirectly there's still some truth to the statement. I don't think I've ever seen a girl being attracted to an edgy kid, correct me if I'm wrong, but joking about 9/11 isn't quite the best pick up line. Sure, it drives attention, but it's a negative one.
