Neither Let's Plays nor his particular style of comedy really appeal to me, but I always found him far, far less annoying than others like Markiplier and JackSepticEye (though that's not saying much).

His recent scandal was completely blown out of proportions by people who seem to be unable to tell a political statement from a joke, or rather who deliberately ripped a quote right out of its context to manufacture outrage.
pewdiepiew basically ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up... this more cringe than anything else, but it says something about his viewers

I don't think PewDiePie is following this event either the little impact this story has had makes it kind of irrelevant.

Learn to understand the actual issue.

The point is not that people can't take a joke or some jews thought he was offensive.

The issue is that here's a "celebrity figure" with a multimillion following of impressionable, naive children and he not once, but repeatedly makes anti-semitic remarks and promotes nazi imagery. (also thinks rape is funny)
This has an effect on those preteen minds who think it's all jsut a bit of fun.

Now the impact of that effect is exactly in line with what extremeist groups actually idealise, yet without them having to risk backlash - so it's great for them and tomorrow's politiicans and world leaders and news editors etc. are all being influenced jsut how they like but not by them by someone with far greater reach in society.
A lot of people notice this effect and its impact and are concerned since someone in Jjellberg's position and being an adult (apparently) ought to know how to be a little more responsible considering their fan base are mainly lower-education-bracket preteens. Yet insteqd Kjellberg simply repeats and reinforcesd the message without even seeing to realise and of course the impressionable kids still think "It's just a joke" becasue all they see is the black and white "Pewdip makes a joke - someone gets angry"
The effect is magnified.

Understandably this is a bit of a problem for certain corporations that have had difficulties in the past especially when they are founded by and currently headed by Jews and a significant part of their business is solely devoted to products for children and their advertising revenues are also marketing towards children and as result, heavily scrutinised in terms of the brand's association and reputation with regards to children.

So it doesn't matter if people got angry or someone was offended by a joke - that's NOT the point. That's NOT the reason why Kjellberg needs to consider his responsibilities or Disney / Alphabet have to consider their associations.

Many people defending or otherwise confused over the issue are children themselves and cannot see the wider implications and impact of what simple jokes actully are in a sense of political propaganda. Kjellberg doesn't seem to understand himself that unintentionally his brand is propaganda and the inclusion of motifs and attitudes is (regardless of whether a joke) promoting a way of thinking.

Unintentional Propoganda? You think all these kids really believe that what the Nazis' were doing isn't wrong? There are tons of celebrities who do tons of questionable stuff, but since a guy MAKES FUN of Nazis' its all over? Fascists and Hitler will come back because of a few jokes? You are the real person who has been influenced by propganda, not the kids who watch a stupid person do stupid things. -From a person who is not a kid, and knows that jokes are not propaganda
P.S. Does this mean everyone on SNL has spread propaganda, because they've criticized both Republicans and Democrats?
P.P.S. Does this mean any comedy TV show that ever jokes about something is propaganda?

Not sure what you think how much the kids know about Nazis has to do with anything. You obviously don't understand how subversive manipulations work and nowhere did I make any reference to "Hitler coming back" (Fascists have been around since Mussolini and will continue to be so - not sure why you think that's 'gone away')

Propaganda is defined propaganda by use, not by intent. You'd do well to learn the meaning of words you use.

No, the actual issue is that people are pretending to be offended by a statement that is obviously not political or indicative of any set of beliefs. The terms you use ("promotes" nazi imagery, anti-semitic "remarks") perfectly represent that, as they suggest that PewDiePie actually supports far-right extremism while his words were shock comedy at worst. Not to mention the fact that people he interacts with have confirmed that he has never shown hatred or any negative attitude towards Jews.

You dismiss the "just a joke" argument precisely because all the assumptions you make about his opinions fall apart the moment you recognize that he never endorsed the statements you pulled out of context as his politcal position. Furthermore, the fact that you think people who enjoy dark comedy are kids who "find rape funny" shows that the very concept of humor is totally alien to you.

And turning political positions into ridicule for purposes of comedic exaggeration isn't propaganda, it's anti-propaganda. Do you realize you are suggesting that PewDiePie is indoctrinating kids into the new Hitler's Youth because of a few jokes? Your line of argument is really no different than that of an overzealous Christian parent who think their child will turn to witchcraft if they are exposed to childrens' shows that involve magic and fantasy.

Again, his content doesn't appeal to me, but this manufactured outrage only fuels far right talking points that paint their opponents as stereotypical SJWs.
