I can have anger issues with games I own
These rage outbursts are mostly due to my stupidity & frustration I'm having with a game. When that rage I attack objects in my arms reach. For instance, I had raged very hard earlier today about a game, & I attacked my keybroad for it. I nearly brokened the keys & I've cracked the back of it a tiny bit & I had beaten it so hard with one fist, that the legs on my keybroad came out. Don't worry, my keybroad is still functional otherwise how could I be typing this. The legs are reattachable, so it's not a big deal. But I don't know how to deal with these rages that games can give me. I yell at the games, I beat things. It's not a good habit. I don't know what to do. I'm hoping someone on Steam understands what I meant here. I hope I can get help for it so I won't break anything.

I guess my rage fits are the childish level, not being an adult and thinking of what'll happen after I attack an object of mine. I just rage screaming and pound things. The frustration takes me over and I can break things. I have broken my other objects from rage and frustration. I don't wanna break anything. Please be kind to me.

Just stop playing when you feel you're going to have an outburst. It's really not that hard.
Your mind should control your actions, not the other way around.

Yeah, I need to get better control of myself when I get in a rage. I hate breaking my stuff :(

Just give yourself time to cool off. The worst thing to do when you're angry is to keep doing what angers you.
I struggle with gamer rage myself but I will say that it hasn't been nearly as bad lately. I think I've simply grown and matured and the impulses to get so passionate over winning a game do not overtake me like they used to.

From rage outbursts I've to this day broken three Gamecube controllers and a 3DS. I nearly broke the Wii U Gamepad by throwing it against the wall but luckily my pillow happened to be leaning on the wall at the time and cusioned the impact. Not to mention the outbursts, screaming and throwing stuff.

If I can share any advice I'd say do not get too invested in the games that you play. Easier said than done, I know. It will take time. If one game's level is pissing you off a lot, or if you're having a bad day on multiplayer online, either switch the game to something else, or just quit playing entirely. If you are in a fuming rage, try to gather all the self-control that you can to stop yourself. By throwing a rage and smashing your keyboard, you make yourself look like a fool.

Of course, for me the Bible's advice on anger resonates and helps deeply: Proverbs 14:29 Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly.

Yeah, you're right. Thanks for your advice. I'm hoping I try it out next time I get frustrated so I won't break my things. I'm lucky my keybroad still works.

I had broken an old laptop years ago over Portal :p I was angry I was too dumb to finish it and lifted it up and threw it down. It wasn't my unhappiest moments, at the time it was my own PC I think. I had broken a pair of headphones, they were so expensive & worked wonderfully. But at some point they stopped working or something, I threw them down & broken the ear cup off on one side so it dangled from the headphones. I always cry so hard after losing technology that was so handy to me. I have a few mental disabilities that can make me act out younger than I actually am, so my rages get the best of me. I really need to learn self control over my actions when I get angry. So far in my life, my anger always over powered me and I'm miserable when I realize what I've done. I need to work on controlling my rage so I can't break my stuff. Thanks for your understanding.
Whenever I play Titanfall 2 and get into a crappy match I sometimes find myself screaming and cursing at my TV, although I can control after a few seconds. Breaking items however, is not a really healthy approach to it.

Yeah, I don't mean to break my belongings, but the rage controls me & it happens. I'm not proud of it at all. I wanna break that habit.
Your future if you dont draw the line at breaking things: :steammocking:

I broke a keyboard playing TF2 on my old account
It's strange about the different temper of different people. I never get so much angry with any computer game to smash at something. The only thing that annoys me a lot are some specific people. And probably some dogs that are barking for too long. And when the neighbours play too much of a "boom-boom" subwoofer-bass music that slightly shakes my walls.

People still get mad at games? I thought we all grew up.

Yeah I admitted it's very childish anger. And I'm sorry for your situation, I hope it'll improve.
