accidentally deleted desktop authenticator, how ♥♥♥♥♥♥ am i?
i decided to clean my downloads folder because my hard drive was really low on space. apparently one of the folders in there had my authenticator and i deleted everything in my recycle bin without knowing i deleted it.
so, on a scale of 1 to 10, how ♥♥♥♥♥♥ am i?
also i would appreciate if anyone had any good file recovery program suggestions

You might try Piriform's Recuva[www.piriform.com] program.

Theres a desktop authenticator? Doesnt that sorta defeat the purpose? I would imagine you can just set it back up with an email or something? Theres no real way to lose your account yourself, as long as you keep the email updated. Even a support ticket can resolve if nothing else. You arent ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Dont freak out and worry yourself too much

It defeats what 2FA authentication is trying to accomplish. Having the code on a separate device (phone) from your computer is what really makes 2FA much stronger.

Not having crappy 15trade hold while trading :P

also for OP
While you login just press that you don't have access to a phone and they should send a SMS to a phone number you registered (I think you needed one even with WinAuth) or open Support ticket to remove Steam guard and show some proof of owning the account (as example: holding a box with CD-Key that got used on your account)

Just use "undelete plus" or similar application to undelete the file(s)...

So long they aren't overwritten on that drive location with something else, a delete isn't actually removing anything, rather just marks it gone.

ps: That's why we have 7 pass or more secure wipes, etc - which overwrite the files multiple times to ensure they can't be recovered. You also should never throw out or sell an old hard drive even formated. I use to recover my school's old hard drive they where just throwing out for fun as a kid, they now hit them with a hammer, haha.
