Thoughts on the word "edgy"

I hate it because it seems to have been "adapted" to the people who uses it arguement and it's the stupidest thing ever.
If it's different to what people think it's edgy but if it's not then it's mainstream and terrible. There's no winning.

It's used so loosely I don't have any idea what it is supposed to mean. I think it is only worth using that word joking, never seriously.

Edgy is a stupidly used word to describe someone acting like an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Like, me. I am not edgy. I am mean spirited and aggressive. Edgy shouldn't mean that. That sounds more like new uses for formerly bleeding edge tech. Like an Apple watch.

Why is there sulfer footage in there when the mix only includes psychosocial XD

I'd say edgy is someone saying/doing something that is/was popular that may or may not have a dark tint to it. Example: "I love Harambe" -You did not love Harambe before he was mainstream-
I believe the term originated when someone disliked some emo kids or someone that hurt themselves, so they first used the term "edgy" to make fun of someone who tries to fit in but also cuts themselves. The only reason I say this is because there is a common term where you say "Don't cut yourself on that edge" if someone makes a few comments agreeing with cringy mainstream jokes and memes.
