Slice of life is basically an anime sitcom. No particular story, it's just good fun and usually ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ adorable.

I really wish you would specify whether you prefer subs or dubs. So I am just going to assume it is a non issue for you. Kaze no Stigma, Demon King Daimo, and Kampfer would probably be to your liking. Like lets say a 1990 anime that has an amazing storyline.
And a 2015 anime that stole the storyline with an amazing budget of the production.

Id definetly pick the second one.

LETS GO KAGEYAMAA

Unfortunately japanese studios are paralleling their western counterparts. They are tailoring their products for the global audience in increasing amounts. Resulting in very generic products that most anyone in the world can relate to. The problem being that certain stories, art styles, and so forth aren't being recycled, because the studios don't think they have a place in a global market.

Basically there is a lot of stuff they were doing ten, fifteen, or twenty years ago that they are not doing now, and a lot of what they were doing back then is still jaw dropping today. There is a lot to be disappointed with in current anime. Specifically the assembly line mentality that is taking hold. Not only has a lot of charm been sucked out of the current offerings, but there is a lot of abuse when it comes to computer rendering.

Just do yourself a favor and watch a movie like Ninja Scroll.

Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle is one of my favourites.

Unfortunately, the anime adaption goes to ♥♥♥♥ in the middle of the series. So you might want to read the manga instead.
