IS PIVOT ANIMATOR SAFE?
Hi, I've recently been wanting to start animation but all I know how to use is pivot animator as I used to play around with it as a kid, please let me know if it contains any malware or anything like that. Thanks.

this thread got necro'd a lot of times.
What do you mean "necro'd"?
"Necro" means to bring a dead forum thread back to life.
Like this thread, for instance.

Just in case for necros.
lol we got a little necro community right here :) happy new year
after all this years, and no comment from the author either, I think pivot animator is safe. Just, run it in a virtual machine, like Qemu, VMvare or sandboxie you'll be fine.

Not everyone can run VMs since Microsoft did messed it up for many users.... RIP!!! And there have been users hacked from the trusted Pivot....

What did they mess up?

Also yeah, if one is being told to run some software in a virtual machine "just in case", that's a good enough indication that it shouldn't be trusted.

Yea at shouldn't be trusted. XD And Microsoft released some update that screwed up pretty much over 80% of those that has a computer with Windows OS on it. Those that didn't get touched were not online when it happened. They stopped the update servers just to fix the issue and then re released it. But because of the first mess up everyone lost their hard drive, in other words, lost a lot of files. Some files in which were used for VM-ing. Which includes Visuralization? Sorry can't spell that word... Don't use it much LOL And Hyper-V got messed up. Also because of this issue, people like me can no longer use the tool "BlueStacks", or not as smoothly as they should? No matter how much ram we got....... This mess up also screwed up our System Restore dot exe thing......... It says, files were deleted, can't recover...... RIP!!!!!
Besides, the point on doing art, is to not use VM... XD

Chromium sucks, good thing you removed it.
ITS NOT SAFE, the original website is http://pivotanimator.net/ BUT i did some research and from what i know it gives you viruses unless you click decline on all but the first accept/decline page on the installer, i dont recomend installing it unless you have done some research
im thinking about installing it cause it would be so fun to use but i might get viruses :(
Putting this out for everyone out there who might stumble upon this thread.

The installer offers a lot of junk programs along with Pivot, but as long as you decline everything that isn't Pivot itself, you should be alright.

True, and some of these types of installers don't give you choices. Or do but still installs anyways.

Use a VM within a VM.
