That being said, their coffee does suck. I just get pounds of coffee from local coffee shops. Sometimes these guys:
http://www.boxwoodcoffee.com/
Not just because I dislike coffee, but because everyone in there looks like a hipster
I asked for a melon smoothie
kinda good
too expenssive tho
4 bucks?
I can get them for 1,5 at mcdonalds
"Quad" = 4 shots.
Huh. I walk in, ask for a medium coffee black, $2 and 4 minutes later, I have a coffee. They do not require you to use their language to order, and they are a coffee shop. I am going to say this is customer error, due to ignorance or social anxiety. As for their coffee, it is mid-range. Passable, not great.
Also, hipsters work in local small business coffee shops. record shops that sell vinyl, or Whole Foods.
You can just say, "I want a cup of coffee" and they'll give you a cup of coffee (.... yes you have to pay for it), no bells or whistles.
Honestly most donut shops and 7/11s have better coffee.
This^^ and for people who like to watch others act like they are on their tablets doing something important.
Solves many problems.
This seems to be basically the same problem you'd get if you went to a fancy sit-down restaurant and tried to order take-out. It's simply a mismatch between service offered and customer need.
Starbucks caters to people that want to sit around, and use the coffee an an excuse to get stuff done, like doing office stuff, writing papers, reading, and so on.
If you're just looking for a simple plain cup of coffee with no bells and whistles, probably a better idea to go to a McDonald's and ask for a cup of coffee.
Now if you know your way around their menu, you probably know how to order a quick cup of plain-and-simple coffee from them. I don't, so I wouldn't go there for that purpose.
Sorry about your experience, I guess. Though I don't work at Starbucks nor do I even buy much from them because I don't drink coffee. (They do offer food, though usually I'd rather go to a Subway, Pollo Tropical, or Chipotle instead.)
