Looking for old/obscure multiplayer games
MMOs are acceptable. I'm looking for games that were released before 2001 that are multiplayer, examples would be Neverwinter Nights, Ultima Online, EverQuest, etc... Also, it must be free, playable on a private server, or cheap.

It would also be nice if very few people know about the game/it's mostly dead.

The original Linage would be fun to play again. I remember playing it as a really young kid but it was complex for me at the time. Would like to give it a try now that I'm old enough to understand it better.
