Games where you can watch AI vs AI?

Hi all :)

Which games exist, where you can watch AI vs AI?

For example; a racing-sim where you can set up a race of only AI racers (no human players), so you can watch the AIs race like you were watching a race on TV?

Or a soccer-match (or tennis, or baseball, whatever) where the 2 teams were AI teams that play against each other (again; no human players)

Not necessarily fancy graphics. Could even be old-school 'pong' style graphics. But games (or concept software) where you can have AI bots play other AI bots and sit back and watch (no human interaction during play)

If any has the added bonus that you can make some adjustments to the AI, even better.

I'm looking for game/software titles (and perhaps links if they're not well known or titled in a way that makes google-searches hard (for example, a game called "my cat" could be tough to find on google, which would likely just show a billion links to cat-gifs :) )

You can do it in Overwatch (custom games with AI bots).

1. Start a Paradox grand strategy of your choosing.
2. Start a game as any faction with ironman mode disabled
3. Open console and type "observe"
4. Enjoy the chaos

OMF 2097 will run match after match of AI fights, and Archon Deluxe you can set AI vs AI.

I also watch matches in wrestling empire and you can watch a football game in mutant league football.

One more addition: Rise of Nation has it, I am pretty sure.

That's fun to watch I think if this is the case that the game has it because the game's pretty comprehensive and ... um... It's got nukes.

I think you can do that with Sid Meier's Civilization V and VI.

You are looking for games with Spectator Modes:

Pretty much every decent strategy game has these and are more common in older games than newer. Sometimes a DIY spectator mode can be made by creating an an online game and populating it with only computer-controlled players.

iirc, rFactor comes with spectator races, but I'm not sure:

Sports games, and by extend shooters? I'm not sure, as they are designed to be played against one another. But some older games switch to demo matches when left untouched long enough as some kind of screensaver.
I think some custom scenarios/game modes from ArmA 3 could entertain you, but they might be too scripted as well. Maybe something like Warmachine:

Again, your best bet is looking for multiplayer games that allow matches to be only populated by A.I. and have spectators.

Now that you mention that. I believe something like TF2, team fortress 2 has this option like to go spectator and in like bot matches, or empty servers populated with bots you can do this.

I remember watching that way back and thought like that it was impressive what the AI were doing how they were playing I believe CTF, capture the flag mode together, against each other, team wise.

Yup, I think all source shooters have this. Quake, Unreal Tournament and Cube I think, too. Basically, the boomer shooters.

There's quite literally an "observe mode" where you can watch the AI just battle it out over and over. It's a huge part of learning how the game works, and the developers use it to make balance decisions.
