A question about the Deep Web.

EDIT: Just to clarify, I would NEVER go to the deep web just because of the amount of ♥♥♥♥♥ I am. I'm just curious.

Hi there. I'm a 17 year old from the Midwest area, and recently a distant friend of mine went missing. In the investigation, they found that he had been visiting the deep web a lot just prior to his disappearance. Learning this, I've grown a fascination with the deep web. I know a little about the deep web (mainly learned through creepypastas) but I was just curious about the content of it. Is is as much gore sites and red rooms or whatever they're called as they say? or is it mostly fairly harmless arms dealing websites, cults, weird pr0n, drug dealers, and the occasional child trafficking sites?

I'm aware this will attract it's fair share of trolls, but it's 2 AM my time and my mind is wandering, feed me some thoughts

It's not the deep web you gotta worry about, that's the dark web. The deep web is just people looking to subvert censorship, the dark web is where legitimately illegal activities are going on, drug dealing, prostitution, even assassins for hire.

I have yet to see any conclusive evidence of hitmen on the Dark Web. On the contrary, there are plenty of stories of people who got scammed by a fake hitman on the Dark Web.

You got people in war torn regions who kidnap and torture people on live stream for donations. There are a lot of sick ♥♥♥♥♥ who pay a lot of money to see someone tortured on live stream.
