How does Battlefield 1 Premium Friends work?

Like, I heard it's a time based thing, is it ever going to be permanent or are they just testing it right now? And also is it active right now? There doesn't seem to be much infomation about it :(

As far as I know, playing with friends who've purchased premium does not gain you any benefits.

Premium Friends was added a month ago, if someone on your friends list owns Premium, you can play the DLC maps with them, you just cant unlock anything.

I don't think that works now. At least when I tested it it did not.

If the premium player hosts a party, everyone invited to it will be able to play any DLC map.

HOWEVER, there are some restrictions.

-The host is the one who has to find a server. If the client tries to find a TSNP sever they'll get the DLC message.

-You will NOT gain any XP nor points in-game. You will always be at the bottom of the scoreboard regardless of how great you were. The XP that you would have gained will be "stored" for when you do get the DLC. I had over 100K XP on "storage" (XP Boost consumable + Weekend XP event + 25K XP assignment), but I only got it when I purchased the Premium pass.

-You cannot complete DLC weapon assignments. However you can still pick up DLC weapons from corpses and use them normally. You can also use Elite kits just fine.

-It is active at the time I'm writing this.

Just what I was looking for, thanks! Sadly it doesn't say if they'll continue to keep Premium Friends enabled after June 10th but I assume they'll release more infomation soon after the new DLC comes out

(Battlefield 1) I bought Premium so my friend can play, but it's saying that my friend needs Premium join my server?

I invited him to my party and it says "Premium friends provided by kapple" and in the main menu it says "Premium Friends active" but when he tries to join a premium server that im in it kicks him off and says he needs premium? Why? We played for hours yesterday on premium servers and it was working fine.

It's so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ridiculous honestly. It's so vague about when premium friends is active and when it's not, so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ glad i spent £40 on this ♥♥♥♥. Theres always something with these things that ends up with you getting pissed off because of some silly simple thing that these mainstream ♥♥♥♥♥♥ companies decide to ♥♥♥♥ up.

(Battlefield 1) Bought Premium to play Premium Friends but sometimes my friend can't join a server due to needing Premium?

it's so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ vague about when Premium Friends is active and when it's not. For the past 2 days me and my friend have joined a ton of servers trying to connect, but my friend get's kicked instantly out of the server due to needing premium even though we're both in a Premium Enabled party, it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ridiculous honestly. £40 for this ♥♥♥♥. Waste of both of our times, we just want to drink a beer and play for a few hours, not drink a beer and search for compatible or whatever-the-♥♥♥♥ servers for 2 hours.

The premium player needs to host a party and ONLY the host can find a server.

I have....I'm always the host, sometimes but rarely a server lets my friend join, but most of the time it doesn't and we have to go through tons of servers until my friend can join. It's stupid. And so vague about how the system works.

Odd. When I was playing with Premium Friends I have had these issues.
