I wouldn't say many of these genres are known by most people or have mass appeal and I say this as a person who likes electro swing and "avant-garde" metal. Jazz does make sense though and it's a shame more people don't truly appreciate it.

OP said genres that people know but don't get a lot of attention, they also give an example of pan flute bands which most people are aware of but don't really pay attention to. That makes me assume that they're talking about genres that most people are aware of but don't really give much attention.

Synthwave, Minimal, Breakbeat, IDM, Electro Swing, Neoclassical, Drone and Industrial. I guess some folk music is nice too, but often overlooked.
