What is difference between PCIe 2.1 x16 and PCIe x16
My motherbord has a PCIe x16 slot. What is difference between PCIe 2.1 x16 and PCIe x16. Can my motherbord afford PCIe 2.1 x16 or PCIe 3.0 x16 version Graphic cards

I have a similar question. My GFX card is crapping out on me and I need a new one. My mobo is kinda old (MSI P35 neo2 FR) and has a PCI-e 16x slot.

Is it worth it to find a second hand PCI-e 2.0 16x GFX card? Will it work? With what limitations?

and dont worry about the PCI-e speed, a 1st generation 16port is more than enough for you :)

It has to do with bandwidth. Don't worry about it.

There is absolutely no performance difference or compatibility issues with a PCIe3.0 card on a PCIe2.0 slot. But there might be a little performance difference on a PCIe1.0 slot. But that goes for high end cards
