Yeah softwear?

No, softWARE.

As for recording, there are a few programs. FRAPS is the one that'll probably come to most peoples' minds - If I remember correctly it's about £30.

And then you'll want to find some half-decent video editing software (IE: Not Windows Movie Maker). Depends on what you would like to do, you might find that the "cheap" Sony Vegas package that doesn't offer all of the bells and whistles but does the basics is best for you. http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/download/trials/moviestudiope

FRAPS is decent, but I'd also recommend DXtory as an alternative. While FRAPS is simple and easy to use, it doesn't have much configurability, and that's where DXtory majors. I'm able to use different profiles for different games so I can minimise framerate loss while recording certain games.

The downside is, it can be a little overwhelming for someone not so experienced in video recording. If you need a simple reliable tool for a straightforward job, FRAPS will be perfect for you. Just thought I'd offer up an alternative.

Ah! I've heard of that one before but I've never got round to giving it a try. Might be worth trying DXTory, too. I remember looking around to make sure it was VAC-Safe but couldn't find an answer, though. I imagine it'll be perfectly fine, especially as I'm pretty sure quite a few people on SPUF use DXTory!

If FRAPS is a bit heavy on your machine, you should probably give DXTory a go! :)

When I use Fraps, it's tearing my FPS down to somewhere like 50 fps or something, any ways to get rid of that?

If you have another harddrive, make Fraps write to that harddrive instead.

Reading the game and then writing massive video files to the same harddrive is a VERY intensive task.

Hunter 9/set./2012 às 14:40
It records your screen, so anything you'd like to record.
