I have Logitech and it doesn't happen, don't buy dirt cheap speakers
They will have issues someday, so they are not lasting forever.
You are right I had a high end Logitech speakers 5.1 and they had issues.
The issues started after 6 months to a year.

There are no cheap alterations options for Logitech speakers, except vintage stereo receiver or expensive speakers system.

I paid mine for about $700 used condition.

I would recommend about the same thing. In order to get the most from the stunning audio features today's games have, one must have a great stereo system to go along with the computer.
Yeah. I bought three audio systems (one A/V receiver with 7.2, and two stereo receiver) for cheap, and none of them breakdown or degradation. Iogitech speakers has similar price to homemade amplifier and used speakers or used vintage audio systems.

i would not recommend logitech speakers. they are trouble. if the sound is too low, they shut down until the sound is high enough again.

this is it. get studio monitor speakers, bookshelf speakers or straight up make a surround setup.

dedicated pc speakers or soundbars are pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

When I was young, computer speakers were pretty good, but not anymore.

Z623s by chance? Apparently it's a common occurrence with them. I have them and they developed an issue where they hiss when adjusting the volume. Apparently dust can get into the potentiometer easily with them? Or that's what I read.

You can turn the volume all the way up and down repeatedly while they are off and sometimes that resolves it... for a while. But it's probably not a real fix. And it eventually gets worse. Mine are at the point to where I have to do that process with them off, then set it where I want it, then turn them back on. Even after a day they are back to hissing. I opened mine up and cleaned them at one point and it didn't do a thing.

I'm at the point where I just leave them where they are and use my keyboard/software volume control. Not ideal to have speakers you can't adjust the volume of while they are on, but other than that they do work fine, so I haven't been bothered enough to replace them. Mine are 10 to 12 years old now.

I still have Sound Blaster Speakers from 1997 and it's 5.1 with 5 speakers and 1 Sub.
It still works but I live in a house where I can't use it cause If I did I will have people calling the cops cause of the Noise it makes.
Years ago when I listened to some music with gun shots in it and I had people calling the cops cause they thought there was a gun shot in my house. So I stopped using it so I don't run into issues like that. I still have the box and all and funny the box is huge.

Yes, cheap potentiometers and button. Even my $20 Rotel or $15 Marantz stereo receiver sound better than my Logitech Speaker.

Teach me your secrets!?

For whatever reason, they just started doing that after a year or two. Progressively got worse.

My previous Z2300s had no such issue (but failed in a more humiliating way).

At the least, I have workarounds, even if it's not always ideal. And while I'm under the impression they're not the best speakers around, I'm not an audiophile by any means so they've been good enough for me. In reality, I didn't even choose them. Logitech sent them as a replacement for my Z2300s since they were discontinued.
